 "Nice!!" 2009-10-01
By Cnthea (St Louis)
Great picture! The sound is very clear and plenty loud. No need to rush out and buy a sound system unless that's your thing. Delivery was courteous and punctual. All in all this turned out to be a great way to purchase the Samsung LN52B550 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color.

"Go with the 120 Hz if you're gonna spend the money...." 2009-09-30
By John Craven (Fredericksburg, Virginia)
The clarity on this Samsung model is phenomenal. The black is definitely blacker than any model I have seen but if you're gonna spend upwards of $1,500, do yourself a favor, spend the extra $300 and get a 120 hz refresh rate. This model boasts a 60 hz, which in itself is not bad at all, but it seems like when you get as big as a 52", the fast action seems to blur a lot more than my older 40". Maybe it is the size difference effecting it, but I wish I had sucked it up and got the 120hz. On slow movies, or even sports such as golf, hockey, or football, you won't notice. But watch a quick movie with lots of action scenes, and you will notice a bit of a blur/pixel on this model. Just go and get that extra 60hz, you won't regret it.

 "52 Samsung Awesome" 2009-09-22
By Jim J. Griffis (Fennimore WI)
I got my 52LN550 ladder part of August. When I got the HD hookup with Dish, it took my breath away.

What a gorgeous picture. I watch Whale Wars on Animal Planet and I felt like I was in the cabin of the ship. Everything so clear. My Uncle came to visit, went home and ordered one, he was so impressed.

Football games-Whow! Beautiful.

 "BUY IT" 2009-09-21
By Sherri (Huntsville, AL)
All I can say is this is a super TV. Beautiful picture,no glare problems, just out of the box, it arrived to me in only a couple of days, and me and the delivery guy opened it up, the box was in great condition and we looked it over, plugged it in and it came right on, there have been comments about the sound, but I find it to be just great, I have it in a small living room, so with just the sound 1/4 of the way up it is very loud and sounds great. I am sure with a sound system it would be much better, but I think you will still enjoy it,unless you are wanting the whole movie surround sound, and all I can say is Amazon is a great company to deal with, I had ordered the 46" before, but my friend had the 52" and I wanted it, they only charged me 49.95 to return it and my account was immediately credited, you can not go wrong with this company, AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++. A Happy customer, Sherri :) Also Ceva was the delivery company and both times were excellent.

"Best TV I ever seen" 2009-09-18
By Greg Miller
I was at Wal-mart and they have almost the same TV but its 60,000 to 1 contrast for $1,700.00 plus tax and you got to deliver it yourself and carry it up the stairs. This is 70,000 to 1 has the touch of color and look for the discount code and you might get up to another $150 off. I got the code for $50 off. I ordered it on Friday and got it the following Friday. The guy in charge of the trucking Co as always don't know anything cause he got the job with a college degree. But the trucker knew it all. He made me sign papers that were SOP that the remote, got blue screen and no damage after they took it out of the box and said to save box and put it together and carried it upstairs and we got blue screen. The College guy didn't know or understand the logistics of seeing it working before they left and getting me to sign off. You really should give that job to a senior truck driver. Who cares if his parents spent 1/4 million for him to drink his way through college? I only make that comment cause he had the nerve to act like he was above the delivery men and misinformed me and could have lost my business.

I couldn't even find the speakers so I already had my sound going though a fiber optic cable to a 7.1 Yamaha 700 watt receiver. But as I turned up the sound I could hear, sound coming from somewhere on the TV to. So I wanted to see if the sound was in sync. My old TV wasn't. So I was so happy to see it was. Now I got 9 speakers of surround. From two surround amps. Yea it's insane, but sounds full bodied in the room. I had a old 3000 to 1 contrast ratio High definition TV, that I always complained about not seeing the difference. What I think that TV was, is a hard sell to put HD in something that couldn't handle all the HD and charge me $27.000 back in the day, for it. So if you read this, and can figure out what I say. You'll know to buy it ASAP. My old TV was single DVI cable or component cables. This has 3 HDMI inputs on the back and one on the side. 2 components with primitive RCA audios for those. And just for fun, you can connect your PC to the back to. You also get 15 month warranty, and Samsung never leaves me hanging on the phone and they do in house service. Good warranty service as good as Honda care, but that's another story. Don't get the one at Wal-Mart this one is better, Amazon is the better service. There is no reason to take it back to Wally world, Samsung will do in house service if you have a problem. Sure my neighbors hate me, for being so smart. We all have no idea why people would want Plasma to. Nobody of authority can answer that.
